- Waze Terms of UseNOTEDWaze rewrote large parts of its Terms of Use, mostly to comply with EU/UK consumer-protection rules (right of withdrawal, legal guarantees, advance-notice-of-change requirements). In the process it narrowed its own account-termination and service-modification discretion, deleted a broad indemnification duty, deleted a one-year lawsuit deadline, and replaced sweeping liability/warranty waivers with much narrower ones that no longer exclude liability for fraud or personal injury. No changes expand data collection or sharing, add arbitration, add fees, or otherwise reduce consumer protections.Read the analysis
- Waze Terms of Use (en)NOTEDWaze rewrote large parts of its Terms of Use, mainly to add EU/UK/Swiss consumer-protection rights. New additions include a 14-day right to cancel for EEA users, a legal guarantee that Waze must keep the app working as promised (with extra protections for French users), advance notice before Waze changes the app or these terms, and narrower rules for when Waze can block your account. The update also removes several one-sided clauses that had let Waze deny almost all responsibility, made you cover Waze's legal costs if you broke the rules, and cut down how long you had to sue. No changes in this version take away rights, add new data collection or sharing, or make cancellation/billing harder.Read the analysis
