SLD Registry Policies and Terms and Conditions

UK.COM added a new section to its SLD Registry Policies incorporating the CentralNic Dispute Resolution Policy (CDRP) by reference. This new section explains how disputes between a domain registrant and a third party (not UK.COM itself) over a name registration — typically trademark disputes — will be handled, and points to an external CentralNic webpage for the full rules.

By registering a domain, you're now automatically bound by a separate dispute-resolution policy and rulebook (the CDRP) that isn't included in this document — you only get a link to it on another website. This policy governs what happens if someone else claims your domain name infringes their trademark, and because it's incorporated 'by reference,' it can be updated on that external site without necessarily being reflected here.

“The CDRP, the CDRP Rules and additional information is located at the following link, which is incorporated herein by reference: https://centralnicregistry.com/policies/dispute/”

What you can do — If you register or renew a .uk.com domain, review the CDRP and CDRP Rules at the linked CentralNic page so you understand the process you'd face if a third party challenges your domain name.

450## Section 6 - Trademark Dispute Resolution Policy
451
452The CentralNic Dispute Resolution Policy (the "CDRP") is incorporated by reference into your Registration Agreement, and sets forth the terms and conditions in connection with a dispute between you and any party other than us or CentralNic over the registration and use of any Names within the SLD. Proceedings will be conducted according to the Rules for CentralNic Dispute Resolution Policy (the "CDRP Rules").
+ ADDEDNew trademark/domain dispute resolution section added

A brand-new 'Section 6 - Trademark Dispute Resolution Policy' was added. It says that if someone else claims your domain name conflicts with their trademark, that dispute will be handled under the CentralNic Dispute Resolution Policy (CDRP) and its accompanying rules, which are not printed in this document but are instead linked from an external CentralNic website.
