Ubisoft Privacy Policy
The previous snapshot of this document contained no text, so the entire "How Ubisoft uses your data" section of the privacy policy shows up as new. This is most likely a capture artifact rather than 291 lines of brand-new terms — the practices described are the standard ones Ubisoft has documented for a while. Because we cannot tell which parts are genuinely new, the notes below describe what the current text actually says rather than claiming these are fresh losses of rights. The most consumer-relevant points: Ubisoft can show you personalized ads on partner sites and, with your consent, let those partners reuse your data; gameplay, chat, and voice data can be fed into AI and machine-learning models for moderation and product research; purchase records are kept up to 10 years; and usernames, chat, and friends lists can be publicly visible in leaderboards, streaming, and esports results. Most of the advertising and personalization choices can be changed in the Privacy Center.
Your data can be shared with ad partners for targeting
Ubisoft can use your email address to target you with its own ads on other companies' apps and websites without asking permission first, relying on "legitimate interest." Letting partners actually access and reuse your data for sharper targeting does require your consent, and you can pull that consent back. Note that we could not compare this to an earlier version, so this may not be a new practice.
“You can choose to allow these partners to access and reuse your personal data to display even more targeted and relevant advertising based on your consent.”
What you can do — Go to the Ubisoft Privacy Center (ubisoft.com/account/privacy-center/data-protection) and turn off partner advertising consent and object to content personalization.
Chat, voice, and uploads feed AI and machine-learning systems
Your voice chats, text chats, usernames, and anything you create or upload can be used to build AI models for moderation, plus machine-learning analysis for research and recommendations. There is no described way to opt out of the safety-related uses, since Ubisoft relies on contract and legitimate interest for them.
“This data may also be used to research and develop solutions, including artificial intelligence models, aimed at detecting and analysing inappropriate behavior such as the use of toxic usernames, hate speech, or verbal abuse.”
What you can do — If you don't want voice or chat records analyzed, avoid using in-game voice and text chat, and review the Privacy Center Social Preferences page.
Some data outlives your account, including 10 years of purchase records
Closing your account does not wipe everything. Purchase and accounting records stay for up to 10 years, account data can be kept longer for fraud or safety reasons, and several sections say data is kept "as long as necessary" without a firm limit — which is hard to hold anyone to.
“Your order history and related purchase data will be kept for up to 10 years to comply with tax and audit regulations.”
What you can do — You can still ask for deletion of data not covered by tax or safety exceptions through the Ubisoft Privacy Center; expect purchase records to remain.
Data about you is bought or obtained from outside sources
Ubisoft says it uses data from third parties for research into gaming trends. It states this data is pseudonymized and not linked back to your account, which limits the risk, but you have no visibility into where it comes from.
“In addition, as part of our internal research efforts, we may also use data from third-party sources.”
Crypto-wallet activity tied to your Ubisoft identity
If you use Ubisoft's Web3 features, your public wallet address and blockchain activity can be merged with your regular Ubisoft account data and passed to other companies that handle transactions. Blockchain records are public and permanent, so this links your gaming identity to activity you may have thought was separate.
“We may combine this information with other personal data we hold about you, including information from your Ubisoft Connect account, for example to assess your eligibility to use the Ubisoft Web3 Services.”
What you can do — If you want your wallet kept separate from your gaming identity, don't connect it to Ubisoft Web3 Services.
Parts of your activity are publicly visible
Usernames, voice and text records, and friends lists can show up publicly in leaderboards and streams. If you enter esports events, your name, results, and stats can be published and shared with partners.
“Some data may be made public and may be shared with trusted partners.”
What you can do — Adjust what others can see in the Privacy Center Social Preferences page (ubisoft.com/account/privacy-center/social-preferences).

| 55 | - **Personalized Ubisoft advertising on our partners' applications & websites** | |
| 56 | ||
| 57 | To keep you informed about our latest updates and improve your experience, we may display personalized Ubisoft advertising on our partners' applications and websites. For this purpose, we may use your contact information such as your email address. This data processing is based on Ubisoft's legitimate interest in providing you with the most relevant experience possible. | |
| 58 | ||
| 59 | You can choose to allow these partners to access and reuse your personal data to display even more targeted and relevant advertising based on your consent. You can give and withdraw your consent at any time in the [Privacy Center - Manage your choices](https://www.ubisoft.com/account/privacy-center/data-protection). | |
+ ADDEDPersonalized Ubisoft ads on partner apps and websites Ubisoft can use your contact details, like your email address, to show you its ads on other companies' apps and sites. It does this under "legitimate interest," meaning it does not need to ask you first. Separately, you can consent to let those partners access and reuse your data for even more targeted ads — that part is opt-in and reversible.

| 66 | ||
| 67 | For example, we may process personal data, such as your user ID and in-game preferences (e.g., to save progress and suggest relevant in-game features), technical data (e.g., device model, operating system), gameplay activity (e.g., games played, purchases, ads viewed), and geolocation at the country level only. We use your data solely in the context of our activities and in compliance with applicable data protection laws. | |
+ ADDEDMobile games: consent screen and country-level location only Mobile games show a consent screen you can change any time in app settings, and location is collected only down to the country, not your precise position. Choices you make on mobile override the ones on your Ubisoft account.

| 72 | ||
| 73 | To manage and control how applications use data such as your advertising ID, you can adjust your device privacy settings and update the permissions in line with your preferences. | |
| 74 | ||
| 75 | These options are specific to your mobile activity. Please note that if you log into your Ubisoft account on a mobile game, your preferences and consent selected on the mobile application will prevail. | |

| 84 | ||
| 85 | In the course of providing you the Ubisoft Web3 Services, we may share your crypto-wallet public address with independent controllers to process the transactions you operate. | |
+ ADDEDWeb3 wallet data linked to your account and shared If you use Ubisoft's Web3 services, your public crypto-wallet address and on-chain activity can be combined with your Ubisoft Connect account and shared with other companies to process transactions. Those companies run under their own privacy terms, not Ubisoft's.

+ ADDEDPurchase records kept up to 10 years Your order history and payment-related records stay on file for as long as a decade, which Ubisoft ties to tax and audit rules. Closing your account does not clear these.

+ ADDEDYou can appeal a ban or sanction If you get sanctioned, you can ask Customer Support for a human review and more information — though Ubisoft will not explain details that would reveal how its cheat-detection works.
| 242 | ||
| 243 | This data may also be used to research and develop solutions, including artificial intelligence models, aimed at detecting and analysing inappropriate behavior such as the use of toxic usernames, hate speech, or verbal abuse. These technologies also help us fight cheating and fraud, preventing unauthorized activity and preserving the integrity of our services. | |
+ ADDEDGameplay, chat, and voice data used to build AI models Chat history, voice records, usernames, and content you upload can be used to train and develop AI systems that spot cheating, hate speech, and abuse. Game data can also go through machine-learning analysis for product research and recommendations.
