Terms of Use

This update removes the $29.95/month "Technology Fee" that TradingView charged for popular invite-only scripts, narrows the license you grant over published scripts by dropping the right for TradingView to sub-license them, and simplifies some wording around account termination and House Rules. None of the changes in this diff take away rights or protections you previously had — most are neutral or in your favor.

200Upon your request, your account can be deleted from TradingView. You may delete your account at any time by visiting your Settings page. If you requested that your account be deleted, we will delete the personal data associated with your account. However, certain personal data will be retained if it has been integrated into data that is integral to our systems and site, including data in communications you have sent via our site. This data is necessarily retained for the integrity of the data on the site and our legitimate business purposes, including auditing, security, and other legitimate interests (please refer to our Privacy Policy for more information). Your published Contributions (including, for the avoidance of doubt, all scripts, ideas, publications and other content you have published on TradingView) will remain on the site at our discretion, whether your account is deleted at your request, or suspended or terminated by TradingView. Once a Contribution has been published, it becomes part of the communal trading knowledge and should stay that way. This policy prevents users from keeping only their best ideas public, thus keeping everyone honest and maintaining public confidence in the reputation and integrity of the site.

± CHANGEDWording simplified on scripts staying live after account closure

The rule that your published scripts and other contributions can stay on TradingView even after your account is closed is unchanged in substance, but the sentence spelling out 'whether deleted at your request, or suspended or terminated' and listing 'scripts, ideas, publications and other content' was shortened to one general sentence.

− REMOVEDUnpaid Technology Fee no longer listed as a reason for termination

Because the Technology Fee was removed, TradingView also deleted 'failure to pay a Technology Fee' from the list of reasons it can terminate or suspend your account. The other reasons (breaking the rules, law enforcement requests, inactivity, fraud, etc.) still apply.

TradingView removed the sentence saying its House Rules, Script Publishing Rules, and Vendor Requirements 'form part of these Terms of Use' and are updated 'from time to time.' You still must agree to follow the House Rules, but the contract no longer explicitly says future updates to those separate documents automatically become binding contract terms.

± CHANGEDLicense you grant over published scripts narrowed

The license you give TradingView when you publish a script no longer includes the right for TradingView to 'sub-license' it to other companies. TradingView also removed the explicit sentence stating the license survives account termination and that it may keep showing your script to old and new users afterward, though the license is still described as perpetual and irrevocable.

24222A. Technology Fee for invite-only indicators
243
244If you publish one or more invite-only scripts on TradingView, TradingView shall charge you a technology fee (the "Technology Fee") of US$29.95 per calendar month per user whose access to any invite-only script published by you is active at the end of that calendar month. The Technology Fee applies only where the total number of users with active access to your invite-only scripts exceeds 100 at the end of the relevant calendar month. TradingView may change the Technology Fee at any time on written notice to you.
− REMOVEDTechnology Fee for invite-only scripts removed

TradingView deleted the entire section that charged script publishers $29.95 per user per month once more than 100 people had active access to their invite-only scripts, including the invoicing, late-payment, and penalty rules. This fee no longer exists.

245
246TradingView will determine the number of users with access to your invite-only scripts as at the last day of each calendar month, based on its own records of access grants and script usage. TradingView will issue an invoice for the preceding calendar month within 30 days of the end of that month to the email address associated with your account. Each invoice is payable within 14 days of the date of the invoice. TradingView may collect payment by issuing an invoice for direct payment or by charging any payment method held on your account. The Technology Fee is non-refundable.
247
248If the Technology Fee is not paid when due, TradingView may, at its sole discretion, on written notice and with immediate effect: (a) block new access grants to your invite-only scripts; (b) hide, restrict or revoke access to any of your scripts, including existing access; (c) remove any script, publication or profile content; (d) withdraw your vendor privileges; (e) suspend or terminate your account under Section 18; and/or (f) recover unpaid fees together with interest and costs. This Section 22A applies to all invite-only scripts and users, including existing scripts and existing vendors.
