Privacy Controls
Shopify removed the "Opt out my browser" privacy control, which let users block the sale or sharing of their personal data for targeted advertising on a per-browser basis. The other data controls (limit ad use, erase data, access data) remain unchanged.
Browser-based opt-out for data sale/sharing removed
Shopify used to offer a quick, no-login browser opt-out that stopped the sale or sharing of your personal data for targeted advertising. That specific tool is gone. You can still use the 'Limit use of my data for ads' request elsewhere on the page, but it's not clear if it works the same way (e.g., without needing to submit a request or log in), so exercising this right may now take more effort.
“### Opt out my browser This choice applies to your current browser only and is limited to cookie-based practices.”
What you can do — Use the 'Limit use of my data for ads' option on this page to request that Shopify limit use of your personal data for advertising, since the standalone browser opt-out no longer exists.
