個人情報の取り扱いについて (Handling of Personal Information)
Nikkan Sports added one new item to its cookie/ad-tracking section: an ad-targeting program run with LINE Yahoo that links up with mobile carrier SoftBank. Under it, the site sends your device information (country/region, network conditions) and browsing history to SoftBank, which uses identifiers it holds (such as your IP address) to sharpen ad targeting. Nothing else in the policy changed, and an opt-out link is provided.
Your browsing history is now sent to a phone carrier for ad targeting
This adds a brand-new recipient of your data. When you use the site, your browsing history and device information go to SoftBank, a mobile phone company, so that ads can be aimed at you more precisely. Even though the site says it does not send your name or other directly identifying details, a carrier can often connect an IP address to a real subscriber account, so this links what you read on the site to a person's phone service.

What you can do — If you don't want this, use the opt-out page at https://www.softbank.jp/privacy/personaldata/utilization/ads/ . You can also check your SoftBank account settings, since the program only covers users who agreed to data use there.
Carrier-held identifiers like your IP address are used to recognize you
The program relies on identifiers the carrier already holds, such as your IP address, instead of ordinary cookies. That means turning off cookies or using a private browsing window will not stop this kind of tracking on its own.

What you can do — Opting out through the SoftBank page above is the way to stop it; blocking cookies alone won't.
