Starting October 1, 2026, DropCatch will no longer tell you the .com/.net backorder cutoff in familiar US time zones. Instead it gives a single UTC time and says converting it to your local time — including tracking daylight saving changes — is your responsibility. If you get the conversion wrong, you could miss the cutoff and lose your chance to backorder a domain, with no fallback offered. The extra 15 minutes of buffer time (30 minutes instead of 15) is a modest offsetting benefit, but the burden of correct time-zone math now falls entirely on you.
“Because this cutoff is fixed to UTC, the equivalent local time shifts with daylight saving time; it is your responsibility to convert 11:30 UTC to your local time zone.”
What you can do — Before October 1, 2026, set a reminder or calendar entry that automatically converts 11:30 UTC into your local time and re-check it whenever daylight saving time changes in your region.
