If you contact a seller as a buyer, your details are sent to that premium seller by SMS and also displayed on the website. That means your information can be seen beyond the one seller you meant to reach, and can lead to unwanted calls.

What you can do — If you are buying, consider using a secondary phone number when you enquire about a car.

Putting up an ad counts as giving permission for CarWale and CarTrade to call or SMS you about it. There is no stated way to say no and still list.

“You authorise CarWale/CarTrade to call or SMS you in connection with your car Advertisement.”

CarWale says it can withdraw or alter any part of the plan's terms whenever it likes, without telling you in advance. That means the deal you signed up for — including listing benefits — could change after you have paid.

“CarWale reserves the right to withdraw and/or alter any or all of the terms and conditions of the plan at any time without prior notice.”

What you can do — Save a dated copy or screenshot of the terms and your payment receipt when you buy a premium listing, so you can show what was promised.

The "100% refund guaranteed" promise has real limits: you can only claim between 30 and 90 days after paying, so asking too early or too late gets you nothing, and only one listing per mobile number qualifies. Refunds also take 8-9 business days.

What you can do — Set a reminder for day 30 after payment so you can claim a refund inside the 30-90 day window if your car has not sold.

A premium ad you delete cannot be put back online, even if you deleted it by mistake. Nothing here promises a refund or a replacement listing in that situation.

“Premium ad once deleted by the user intentionally or unintentionally, cannot be made live again.”

CarTrade Tech says it is not responsible for any shortfall or for fights between buyer and seller, and does not guarantee your car will sell. All checks on documents and on the other person are on you, even on a paid listing.

“CarTrade Tech Limited will not be responsible for any deficiency and any dispute arised between the Buyer and Seller”

What you can do — Verify the other party's identity and paperwork yourself, and complete the RC transfer promptly after any sale.

Any dispute about this listing plan must go to courts in Mumbai. If you live elsewhere in India, travelling and hiring a lawyer there can cost more than the listing fee, which makes small claims hard to pursue.

“Any dispute arising out of or in connection with this scheme shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Mumbai only.”

If CarWale judges that you abused or misused the site or broke these terms, it can suspend your account or block you permanently. No appeal process or refund for an unused paid listing is mentioned.

“User will not abuse or misuse the website or engage in any activity which violates the terms of this Agreement. In any such case, CarWale may suspend user account or permanently debar him/her from accessing the Website.”

After you list, you cannot change your city or the car's make and model, and your ad only shows in your own city. Listings and photos also need CarWale's approval, which it decides on its own terms — so an ad you paid for may be delayed or held back.

“Seller city cannot be changed later on once the vehicle is listed.”

What you can do — Double-check the city, make, and model before submitting your listing, since these cannot be fixed later.
