The policy is broad: it lets CarWale share your name and phone number with dealers, car makers, banks and other group companies; it treats filling in any form as permission for CarWale and its current and future partners to call, text and email you even if your number is on the DNC/DND list; it lets the company hand basic identifying details to law enforcement without a subpoena; it accepts no responsibility if your data leaks; and it says continued use of the site means you accept any future changes to the policy.
Automatic tracking of pages you visit, including off-site
CarWale records your IP address, browser details, and which page you came from and go to next - even when those pages are on other websites. Ads are served through Google's DoubleClick platform, which adds more ad tracking.

Buyers and sellers are given each other's phone numbers
If you list a car or click to enquire about one, your name and number are emailed to the other party, and to the dealer or car maker for new-car enquiries. You cannot pick who receives it once you show interest.

Marketing calls and texts allowed even if you are on DNC/DND
Just filling in a form is treated as your permission for CarWale and an open-ended list of current and future partners to contact you by phone, SMS or email with sales offers. It specifically overrides the Do Not Call / Do Not Disturb registry protection you may have set up, and hands your contact details to partners you never chose.

Your data goes to dealers, banks and group companies worldwide
Advertisers and third parties collect your form details at the same moment you submit them, and then use them under their own privacy policies, which CarWale does not control. Browsing behaviour and personal information can also be shared across the parent company, affiliates, subsidiaries and joint ventures around the world, and passed on if the business is sold or merged.

What you can do — Before submitting a loan or dealer enquiry form, check that third party's own privacy policy, and use a secondary phone number or email if you want to limit follow-up calls.
No responsibility if your information leaks
After describing its security measures, the policy says CarWale accepts no liability at all if your information is exposed, for any reason - including hacking or transmission errors. It also treats any action taken with your login as something you authorised, so you carry the risk if your account is misused.

Terms can change at any time with only a website posting
CarWale can rewrite this policy whenever it likes. Changes are just posted on the page - you get no email or alert - and simply continuing to use the site counts as agreeing. The burden is on you to keep checking.

Basic identifying details can be handed over without a subpoena
For a verified law-enforcement request tied to a criminal investigation or alleged illegal activity, CarWale can release your name, city, state, phone number, email, User ID history and listing history without any court order. Broader disclosures normally need legal process, but there are exceptions for suspected harm or illegal activity.

Withdrawing your consent can end your access

No time limit on how long data is kept
Records of your buying and selling activity, forum posts and feedback are kept for as long as CarWale considers necessary for disputes, support and troubleshooting. No deletion timeline or right to erasure is described.

Content rules you must follow when posting
