Apple can change what's included in your subscription without asking firstSERIOUS
UNILATERAL CHANGES
Apple can now add new services or expand the features of a subscription you're already paying for at any time, for a wide range of reasons. You don't get a say — your only recourse is to cancel the subscription if you don't want the change.
“Apple may add a service to, or may add and/or expand features and functionalities of, an Apple Subscription at any time”
What you can do — If a subscription you're on changes in a way you don't like, cancel it in Settings > your name > Subscriptions before your next billing date to avoid being charged for it.
New multi-billing-period subscription commitments with limited refundsMATERIAL
BILLING & RENEWAL
Apple introduced subscriptions that require you to commit to a set number of billing periods. If something goes wrong and you're owed a refund, it will only cover the period you already paid for — not future periods in your commitment that haven't been charged yet.
“For Subscriptions that require your commitment to a specified number of billing periods, any such refund will relate only to the period of access already paid for but not yet provided”
What you can do — Before agreeing to any subscription that mentions a 'commitment to a specified number of billing periods,' check exactly how many periods you're locking into and what happens if you want to cancel early.
You can no longer use Apple content to train AI modelsMATERIAL
USER OBLIGATIONS
You're now prohibited from using anything you get through Apple's Services — including content you've paid for — to train, fine-tune, or improve an AI model or other software.
“you may not use the Services, Content, or any outputs from the Services or Content, to train, fine-tune, or improve any artificial intelligence model or other software”
What you can do — If you use purchased Apple content (books, music, etc.) in any AI-related projects, stop, as doing so now violates the terms and could put your account at risk.
Guaranteed download window for TV Season Pass/Multi-Pass content removedMATERIAL
OTHER
Previously you were guaranteed 90 days after a season finished to download episodes you'd bought through a Season Pass or Multi-Pass. That guarantee has been deleted, so it's now unclear how long you'll have access to download that content.
“Season Pass or Multi-Pass Content is available for download up to ninety (90) days after the last episode becomes available.”
What you can do — Download any Season Pass or Multi-Pass episodes you've purchased as soon as possible rather than waiting, since the 90-day guarantee no longer applies.
Free trial combination rule tightened, iCloud exception removedMINOR
BILLING & RENEWAL
iCloud free trials used to be allowed to combine with an Apple One trial. Now that exception is gone, and the no-combining rule applies more broadly to any bundle containing Apple Subscriptions.
“Free trials or offers to Apple Subscriptions cannot be combined with any free trials or offers for any bundle including Apple Subscriptions (an "Apple Bundle"), such as Apple One .”
What you can do — If you're relying on stacking a free iCloud trial with another Apple bundle trial, check your current trial status, since that combination may no longer work.
Apple Account broadly tied to this AgreementMINOR
OTHER
The terms now explicitly state your Apple Account — used across all Apple products, not just media purchases — is subject to this Agreement. This could mean rules in this document, like dispute or liability terms, apply more broadly to your overall Apple Account use.
“is the account you use across Apple's ecosystem and subject to this Agreement”
