About Cookies & Similar Technologies
This update to American Express's Cookie Policy adds several new third-party advertising trackers (including Criteo, TikTok, and new Google ad cookies) and a new 'Session Replay' tool from Dynatrace that can record how you interact with the site. It also expands the policy to cover tracking via your browser's local/session storage, not just cookies. On the plus side, it drops some older ad trackers (Yahoo, Veepee ad) and trims the Quantcast cookie list. Most other changes are minor wording, cookie-name cleanups, or new technical/security cookies needed to run the site.
Tracking expanded to browser storage, not just cookies
American Express now says it also tracks you using your browser's local and session storage, a technology that works similarly to cookies but wasn't previously mentioned. This means more of your browsing activity on the site can be recorded.
